Joint Board/SOTA PD Fund

Members may be approved for funding for up to TWO activities per year
(​not including Educational Leave, MIP, and the MTS Professional Development Day). 
The Joint Board/SOTA PD fund is for members to access autonomous teacher professional development. 
Please note that all applications must include RATIONALE  (relevance to teaching and summary of activity) to be considered for funding support. ​

PD Fund Deadlines

In-Province
10 calendar days prior to the start of the activity (including Tuition).

***In-Province activities(including Tuition) occurring in July, August and or September MUST be submitted on the first school day in June. This year that date is June 1st, 2026.***

Out-of Province
The first school day of the month is the application deadline for all Out-of-Province conferences occurring in the next month.

***Out-of- Province requests occurring in July, August and or September MUST be submitted on the first school day in June. This year that date is June 1st, 2026.***

MTS Professional Development Day:
Reimbursement requests MUST be submitted by 2 weeks following the date of MTS PD Day.

Member Initiated Project (MIP):
October 1st- funding period one
February 1st- funding period two

Educational Leave Deadlines:
November 1st for January to June 30th Leaves
April 1st for September to January 31st Leaves

Each school has its own school based PD Budget. Please check with your administrator if you are interested in PD opportunities before applying to the fund.
